For Android the app is available for free on the Google Play store. For iPhones the app is available for free on Apple’s App store. Search for SharpShot EZ-Trainer. Or, scan the QR code on the website home page.
Your phone or tablet may be placed anywhere within Bluetooth range of the SharpShot unit. Potentially up to 100 meters depending on the surroundings
The SharpShot EZ-Trainer can use standard NRA targets 10.5”x12” in size (or other targets that size) or you can print any image (no laser color) on regular 8.5”x11” paper targets and use that. In that case, the target displayed in the app is limited to the targets include with the app so won't match your image. A future feature will allow for importing images for use in the app.
As each shot is made a visual hit indicator is displayed on the virtual target on your phone. In addition, a verbal report is made giving the exact hit location in inches or centimeters.
While each box can only connect to one phone/tablet at a time the app supports adding and selecting different shooters. The shooter name is stored with the shooting session for later review.
Using the Connect page in the app, select and connect to each active box. After that just use the app like normal, but now each box will be used as part of the selected training exercise.
Each shooting session can be saved to the app history for later review. When reviewing a visual representation of your target showing all hits is the first page. The second review page includes a list of all hits with their exact hit location and timing of the shot. The shooter name, shooting mode, date and an optional comment are included with the session information.
Statistics include total group size, three shot group sizes, distance to bullseye, average shot time plus others.
The SharpShot system uses Bluetooth LE to connect to your phone, so your phone can be as far as Bluetooth lets you be. Bluetooth LE has a specified range of up to 100 meters, but it is likely to vary depending on location of the device and box.
To use an airsoft gun with the target unit select Airsoft for the shot mode in the app. Special target paper is needed when using airsoft. We hope to eventually provide packets of these targets, but in the meantime you can make your own.
Take a NRA target and spray the back with contact glue. Press a sheet of regular aluminum foil to the back of the target being sure it is smooth and fully glued down. Trim the excess and use the target just like a regular target. The foil will make sure the holes punched by the airsoft pellet stay open allowing the box to detect the hit.
No, the EZ-Trainer is a self-contained unit that requires no other equipment besides your phone and laser trainer.
Both an Android and iPhone/iPad app are available and should run on any phones from the last few years. The app is a free download so you can verify it runs correctly before purchasing a SharpShot unit.
It will work with virtually any brand of red or green laser trainer device including Laser-Ammo, LaserLyte, SIRT and Laser Shot.
We are planning on providing an IR laser version at a later date.
The SharpShot EZ-Trainer is assembled in the USA using a mix of US and imported parts. The unit's shell and wiring harness are manufactured in the US and the electronics are imported.
